The Trade ordered 3/ to be paid by the Boxmaster
to Stewart Duncan for washing the Seats in the Old Church
belonging to the Incorporation in consequence of the
alterations and repairs which have been made upon them

Dundee 7th July 1823
At a Meeting of the Tailor Trade called for the
express purpose of taking into consideration the conduct
of the present Boxmaster in consequence of his refusing to
attend any meetings.- The Trade finding it im-
-possible that their Business can be carried on without
the attendance of the Boxmaster do resolve to call to do
the duty James Keathies ~as~ formerly elected Interim
Boxmaster to continue in office till Martinmas first
and that the poor of the Trade may not suffer loss the
Meeting empower the Deacon and Interim Boxmaster
to borrow on the Credit of the Trade the Sum of Ten
Pounds Sterling and directed them to ascertain immed-
-iately the days on which the Pensioners receive their
weekly allowances and to pay them accordingly and to
inform the Pensioners that as William Matthewson
has refused to do the duty they on the peril of being
cutt off from the benefits of the funds of the Tailor
Trade do receive nothing more from him. The
Deacon and Interim Boxmaster were also instructed
to wait on the Tenants of the Trade before the ensuing
term and inform them that Mr Matthewson has no
power to receive the rents and that they must be paid
to the Interim Boxmaster. – The meeting resolved that
