Dundee 27th September 1821
At the same meeting it was moved that the Deacon
appear at the Election of Magistrates & Treasurer this day
and vote for ~Messrs Thomas~ Mr David Brown as Provost,
Messrs Thomas Bell, Archibald Ogilvie James Gray
and James Smith Murraygate to be Bailies, and
Mr David Martin to be Treasurer all for the ensuing
year. This motion was also seconded and carried
unanimously

The Trade being met by appointment ~accepted~
~The~ Deacon was accepted into Office for the
ensuing Year

The Deacon having taken the Chair in Presence
of the Trade Returned thanks, a Petition was Presented
to the Trade from Cathraine Smith as Being in verry
Destitut Circumstances the Trade agreed to Give
her five Shillings as a Present Relief and the
Boxmaster was ordered to pay her that Sum accordingly

The Trade being met for the purpose of proposing
Harbour Commissioners for the ensuing year, Messrs
John Sime and James Thoms were proposed by
the Boxmaster, and being seconded his motion
was carried unanimously, and the Deacon instructed
to vote at the General meeting of the Trades accordingly
