To the Trade in the Room of Mr Small against
the following ^Day^ viz. Wednesday the 14th Inst at
Eleven Oclock forenoon, That he Mr Simpson
was Ordered to take Legal Steps to Secure the
Rent for the Tailor Incorporation
The Deacon Further Reports that he Saw
Mr Simpson this Forenoon and he informed
him that Mr Watt had waited on him (Mr Simpson)
Requesting to know if the Trade will be Satisfied
with James Baxter Commonly Called
Laird Baxter – as Security for the Rent of
his Shop and House –
The Council Consisting of Deacon Malcom
David Watt James Heather, John Young
And Willm Young were Unanimously of
Opinion that if Mr Watt Produced the
Said Laird Baxter as his Security in the
Course of this Afternoon they the Council would
Recommend to take the Same But if Mr Watt
Fail To bring him Forward order the Deacon
to Proceed to Vigorous Measures – as Delays
