Dundee 25th February 1818
At a meeting of the Tailor Trade this evening
being Regularly Called, a Letter was Presented
to the Meeting addressed to the Deacon & Boxmaster
offering to the Trade as Cautioners for the
Property, Taken By George Watt Grocer
Mr Andrew Watt the said Geo Watts Father &
Andrew Small Grocer Overgate which Persons
the Trade agree to Accept. and orders the
Deacon to intimate the same to Mr Watt
At same time it was stated to the Meeting that
Mrs Willm Smith is verry Distressed and has been
so for a considerable time and verry badly of
as to Pecuniary matters the Trade Do order
the Boxmaster to Give the said Mrs Smith
Ten shillings for immediate Relief and in
case she be not Recovered in the course of a week
the Boxmaster to advance another five shillings
the Boxmaster was ordered by the Meeting
to Give Margaret Black a pair Stout shoes
as it is Represented she stands much in want
of them
