Dundee 18th February 1818

at a meeting of the Tailor trade this day along
with the Rest of the Nine Trades in the Great Hall
a Set of Resolutions was Read over which was
Relilave to the improvement of the Present Set
of the Burgh, the Nine trades being Requested
to Suport these Resolutions the Substance of
which Resolutions is as follows
that the Nine Trades Shall have the Election
of the three Trades Counsellors that the
Guildry Shall have the Election of the Dean
of Guild and his ~assessors~ and their Five
Merchant Counsellors, – the three Trades Counsell
ars to be Elected as the Convener is at Present
the Tailor Trade having Retired to their own Room
they were Unanimous in their Support of the
Said Resolutions and instructed the Deacon to
Support the Same in the Town Council
