Dundee 11th November 1828
At a meeting held in this Place this evening there were
produced Resignations given in by the following persons of
their political rights as members of the Trade vizt.
Mr Alex Balfour, John Ferrier, James Robb and Thomas
Malcolm – the first renouncing theirs unconditionally, the second
for the Michaelmas Election 1828, the third for twelve months,
and the fourth also for twelve months. – The Resignations
are all dated 30 September last.
The meeting appointed the following members to audit
the Boxmasters accounts for the current year vizt. Messrs
William Young, Robt McCosh, Thomas Peter and James
Thomson, the meeting for that purpose to be held in
the Hall on Monday the 24th Inst at 7 oClock Evening –
Thomas Peter produced an Indenture dated the 30th of
September last, entered into betwixt him and Wm Galloway
for five years from Whitsunday 1826, and craved that his said
apprentice should be entered and received as a free apprentice
to the Tailor Trade upon payment of the usual dues. The
Meeting agreed to do so, and the dues being paid he was
entered and booked accordingly.

Which Day the Trade met to read over the
Box masters accounts for the year ending at Marts
1828, which was done accordingly, and the accounts
approved of and ordered to be booked up in
the usual manner.

At a meeting of the Trade held this evening for the
Election of a Boxmaster for the ensuing year,
Mr James Reid was unanimously re-elected to that
office. – The Book of accounts & Intromissions
with the Trades funds had been previously read
over and docqueted.
