received a Renounciation of the preveliges
or raither Polettical rights as a tradesman
from David Milne ^Cashier^ dated the 16 Septr of
the present year

At a Meeting of the Trade this day for the
purpose of electing a Deacon, and voting at the
Election of Magistrates for the ensuing Year
the Trade unanimously instructed their Deacon
to vote for Thomas Bell Esquire Merchant in
Dundee as Provost & for Messrs David
Martin Merchant in Dundee George Symers
Merchant there John Thain Merchant there
and John Collier Merchant there as Bailies
and David Blair Esq of Cookston Mer-
chant in Dundee as Treasurer. – They
unanimously elected Mr John Young to be
Deacon for the ensuing year. –
There was laid before the Meeting
a Letter dated 3 Current ^from Mr George Thoms^ intimating that he
renounced any political right to the Taylor
Trade. –
Deacon Feathers was unanimously elected to Act
as the New Deacons Assessor. –
