Dundee 28th July 1824
At a meeting of the Trade held this day the last minute
having been read over the Deacon stated that the twenty
five shillings voted by last meeting having been paid
to Widow Smith the mother of Charles Smith, she had
misapplied it by retaining the same for her own use in
place of paying her sons funeral Charges. The meeting
therefore agree and resolve to retain from Widow Smiths
half yearly allowance the above 25/. and to pay it
to Charles Smiths widow.
The Deacon then informed the meeting that he had
called them together chiefly for the purpose of entering Francis
Dick son of James Dick Tailor in Dundee as a member
of the Trade and full master, and Francis Dick having
been proposed, and the motion seconded was carried
unanimously, and the said Francis Dick having satisfied
the meeting of his abilities by an Essay (which was approved of)
he was entered and admitted accordingly having paid
the usual fees and taken the customary obligation to the
Trade.

At a Meeting of the Trade held this Day, the
Quarter accounts were collected.
It was moved and unanimously agreed
to that the Hall should be cleaned and
painted and the standing committee were
appointed to get the same ~done~ done. They
were also authorised if they saw fit to get
the Deacons chair removed and altered. They
were further ordered to get the Arms of the
Trade painted in the Hall. & it was re
commended to them to get them placed
