presented in name of the Trade and appointed
the Deacon, the Boxmaster, Mr Matherson &
the Clerk as a Committee to prepare a Petition
for that purpose, – the Deacon to be Convener. &
the Petition to be forwarded to Mr Hume. –
The Meeting authorised the Deacon
and Boxmaster to borrow Sixty Pounds upon
the security of the Trade for the purpose of
paying the sum due to Mr Robb. –
The Meeting authorised the Deacon
or Boxmaster to order Cans to be put on the
tops of the houses occupied by James Watson
and John Wannan, – also that occupied
by Widow Urquhart.

Which Evening the Tailor Trade met in their
Hall to take in Consideration their Ordinary
Affairs, First the Deacon Gave Notice that
there was four Pews Belonging the Trade in the
South Church, & one in the Old Church ^to Let^, The Trade
order the Deacon & Boxmaster to Get 100 bills
Printed & Dispersed, and Roup the same for three
Years from Whitsunday first ^on Monday the 3d May next^, it was agreed to
^at twelve OClock^
abate 3 shillings of the Yearly Rent of the Seat
Held by John Lundie in the South Church –
The Deacon was appointed at this Meeting
to Represent the Trade as Governor in the Lunatic
Asylum for the Ensuing Year –
Harrie Milon & George Maxwell Apprentices
to William Young was Entred & booked as Free
apprentices their Master Presented their
