Dundee 8 October 1823
At a meeting of the Trade called within
their Hall for the purpose of electing Harbour
Commissioners for the ensuing year Mess.rs James
Chalmers and Peter Dron were proposed on the part
of the Trade, agreed to, and the Deacon was in-
structed to vote at the General meeting of the
Trades accordingly. –
The Deacon afterwards reported to the
meeting that the Nine Trades had made choice
of the following Gentlemen to act on their part
as Harbour Commissioners for the ensuing year
viz Mess.rs James Chalmers Peter Dron and
James Pullar Jun.r

Dundee 13th October 1823
At a meeting held this evening the Deacon stated that
he had called the meeting for the purpose of entering Mr
Thomas Peter Tailor in Dundee son of the late Mr Thomas
Peter Tailor there, a member of the Trade, who having
been sent for, and came to the meeting, and craved to be
admitted a master and free member of the Trade, he was
after due trial admitted accordingly for payment of the
usual dues for a freemans son his father having been
a freeman of the Trade.

At a meeting of the Trade the following accounts for Repairs
on the property belonging to them were laid before the meeting
viz James Anderson Wrights acct amt £ 8.16.10
Shearer & Baxter Slaters acct – amt 2.16.5
Wm Thomson Masons acct after deducting
half of Expence of East Chimney top } 7.15.9 1/2
Total £ 19.9.0 1/2
The meeting having considered the above accounts after
being read over to them, ordered the Boxmaster to
pay
