The Meeting also directed that the small
Room on the East side of the Low shop
occupied by George Watson should be al-
tered as follows – by ~that~ part of the Wall
being thinned or sloped off – and the
place being lathed and plastered. –
The Boxmaster laid before the
Meeting the state of the account due
by John Cochrane who had applied for
some assistance from the Trade. – The
Meeting directed the Boxmaster to write
him with a state of the account, and to
state that before he can receive any
benefit from the Trade, the arrears must
be paid up. – These arrears amount to L1.15.8 1/2

Dundee 6th October 1823
At a Meeting of the Trade held this day
(~and~) the foregoing Minute being read over and
signed, the Deacon elect accepted of the office,
and promised to do his duty to the best of
his abilities while he continued in the office.
The meeting instructed the Clerk to
write to Thomas Petrie Tailor in Dundee son
of the late Thomas Petrie Tailor there immediately
to pay up the dues of his entry with the Trade
to their Boxmaster, and in case of his delaying
to do so for more than two days after intimation
to prosecute him for damages for encroaching on
the privileges of the Trade.
