Dundee 3d December 1821
At a meeting of the Trade it was agreed to allow
the following Widows Two pounds each viz. Widows
Milne, Duncan, Robertson, Reid, Strachan, Wm Smith,
George Smith, Jno McDonald, Alexr McDonald, Dick
& Ogilvy, being 11 in number. Total Twenty two pounds
The meeting also agreed to the following allowances
viz. To James Dick Senior one pound; To Mary Black
Eight Shillings; To Katherine Smith Five Shillings;
To Agnes Anderson Eight Shillings, To Mrs Cochran
Eight Shillings; and to Widow Leighton Two pounds,
but the latter (Widow Leighton) not to get any
further allowance till the beginning of next December,
It was likewise agreed to allow Alexr Langlands and
George Fairweather One Shilling & Six pence p week
till further orders; And the Boxmaster was
authorised to pay these allowances from the funds
of the Trade accordingly, all, except the above weekly
allowances to be paid immediately, or as soon as can
conveniently be done, the Total amount being Twenty
six pounds nine Shillings, exclusive of the weekly
allowances.
The newly elected Boxmaster Mr Mathewson
having taken his Seat, the late Boxmaster Robert
McCash paid over to him the balance of his
Intromissions amounting to Thirty two pounds
and Seven pence half penny Sterling including
the whole Receipts and payments since his accounts
were approved of and docqueted on the Twenty sixth
day of November last.
The Trade considering that Francis Banks
Residing in the Thilgait was carrying on
Business there as a Tailor without having entered
with the Trade or paid his ffees; Although
he had by desire of the Trade ~been~ written
to by the Clerk, requesting him to enter and
pay
