Dundee 9th July 1816
At the meeting appointed in the minute of the
5th instant for the examination of the Books of the
Trade respecting some difference of opinion existing
between Mr Young and Mr Malcom respecting the
period they were in Mr Malcoms charge. The Deacon
produced a letter from Mr Malcom refusing to submit
to Judgment of the committee but intended to
lay the Books before the Eighteen court for their
examination and declined attending the meeting,
Mr Young attended for the purpose – But the Committee
have again to complain of the refractory conduct
of the Boxmaster, who after desiring the Deacon
to send for the Books of the trade ^again^ refused
to send ^them^ when sent for, thereby preventing the Comm=
ittee from accomplishing the business they met
for both this evening as well as the two preceeding
meetings – Thos Low

At a Metting of the Taylor Trade it
was agread by the Trad that a Comittee be
appointed to Examin the Books for the
Satesfaction of William Young and
Thomas Malcom and all they James Dick
David Stepehen Allaxr Lamb Robt Mudie
to meet on Friday ~evening~ at Six Oclock
evening it was likewise agread that the prop[?]
blonging to the Trade in futer Shall not
be lett without Sufficent Cationers Thos Low
