Dundee 3d March 1828
At a meeting of the Trade held this evening the Deacon
informed the meeting that it had been called for the
purpose of Collecting quarter accounts; and for entering
Robert Rodger Apprentice to Mr John Young Tailor in
Dundee to the privileges of a free apprentice to the Tailor
Trade, which was done accordingly, the fees being Three
pounds five shillings having been previously paid to
the Boxmaster for behoof of the Trade.
The Deacon informed the meeting that he had been
applied to on behalf of Widow A McDonald for some
assistance as she was confined with bad health; and the
fact being ascertained, the Boxmaster was authorised to pay
her in advance whatever small sum or sums he might think
necessary. – The Boxmaster was also authorised to pay widow
Lamb 5/. in advance. He was likewise authorised to advance to
the such of the other widows any small advance they may
require; all to be retained off their next half yearly
allowance.

Hall this day, John Brown Tailor in Dundee
wase proposed as a member & master of the Trade
wase accepted of & entered accordingly after haveing
satisfied the meeting of his qualifications & paid
the dues assessable from an unfreeman.
