Dundee 6th April 1820
At a meeting of the Incorporation held this day it
was unanimously agreed and resolved upon that The
Honourable William Maule of Panmure Member of
Parliament for the County of Forfar, and Joseph Hume
Esquire Member for the Montrose District of Burghs be
admitted as Honorary Members of the Incorporation for
their respective services in their Parliamentary duties, and
Incorporation Tickets or diplomas were accordingly
prepared and subscribed and Sealed by the Deacon;
The diploma in favor of Mr Hume was presented to him
within the Guild Hall of Dundee by the Deacon and
Box master, when Mr Hume was pleased to express
his gratitude for the honor done him by the Trade
and promised to exert himself in favor of the In=
=corporation and Burghs in general. The diploma
in favor of Mr Maule was retained to be presented
or transmitted to him on a future occasion –

At a meeting of the Trade this evening the
Deacon intimated that he had called the
present meeting for the purpose of taking
into consideration the letting of the Seats belonging
to the Trade in the South and old Churches of
Dundee, when it was resolved to let the said
Seats by public Roup for three years after
the 15th May next being the new Term of
Whitsunday, the Roup to take place at the
premises on Wednesday Sen-night the 19th
instant to commence with the Seats in the
South Church at 12 oblock noon, and after
letting
