Dundee Decr 8th 1826

The Tailor Trade met this evening for the purpose
of deciding what sums shall be given to the
widows for the current half year – – – – – – –
~The following~
A motion was made by Mr David Duncan
that the widows shall at this term be paid
one pound ten shillings & five shillings per
four weeks untill the term of Whitsunday
first which motion was seconded by
Deacon Malcom – Thomas Peter moved as an
Amendment that the widows shall be paid
four pounds Sterling at this term – being
~two~ ^five^ pounds ~fifteen~ shillings (the ^same^ sum that was
paid to them last year at Martinmas
together with the half that was allowed
them from the general fund) – which was
seconded by Mr William young –
Mr Peters Amendment was carried by
a majority of the meeting – The Following widows
were accordingly ordered to be paid four pounds
each Viz Widows Wilson – Robertson –
– Strachan – Smith – I Macdonald – A Macdonald
– Watson – Leighton & Langlands – on the motion
of Mr John Paterson the ~[?]~ Maria Clark – W Murray
& Geo Fairweather – were orderd to be paid one
shilling each ~monthly~ weekly in addition to
their present Aliment – Mrs Watson in Montrose
was ordred to be paid two pounds five shillings
