Dundee 10th Septemr 1822

At a meeting of the Tailor Trade held
within the Hall this day the Deacon
mentioned to the meeting that he had
called the present ~meeting~ together for the
purpose of soliciting them to furnish him
with special instructions to vote at the meeting
of Council tomorrow for some certain individual
to succeed the late Mr Small the Town Clerk
~Clerk~ of Dundee, and having named the Candidates
he requested the meeting to determine in the first
place whether it was the opinion of the meeting
that two joint Clerks should be named, or whether
a Depute should be appointed in Mr Smalls room
~and also~ when the meeting came to the unanimous
resolution that a principal & Depute Town Clerk
ought to be appointed. ~It being then moved~
But whether this be adopted by the Council
or not, the Deacon was instructed to vote
as he should see most proper.

At a meetting of the Tailor Trade held this day
for the purpos of electing a Convener the Qualification
being Taken by the Corperation Deacon Low
was put out as a Candidate for that office.
A List being produced Deacon Jas. Pullar was
unanimously elected for Convener for the
insuing Year and the Deacon Ordered to Vote
accordingly
