Dundee 26 Novem. 1823
at a Meeting of the Trade this evening the Box-
masters accounts were read over, and found to be
correctly stated.
James Feathers was duly elected Box-
master of the Trade for the ensuing Year. The
following Members were elected as Councillors viz
John Young – Thos Peter – Deacon Beanstone
and Dav Miller

The Trade being met, the Boxmaster elect accepted of
the office, and the balance in the hands of the late
Boxmaster were paid over to him, and the policy
of the Insurance procured in terms of the Minute of
the 25th November last was also delivered up to him by
the late Boxmaster, and deposited in the Trades Box.
The meeting ordered the following widows to
be paid L2 each from the funds of the Trade viz.
Widows, Wilson, Duncan, Robertson, Reid, Strachan
Smith, Dick, F. McDonald, Ogilvie, A. McDonald,
Watson & Leighton; and they also ordered 5/. to
be paid to Agnes Anderson; amounting the whole
of these payments to Twenty four pounds five
Shillings Sterling; But one pound formerly paid
to Widow Smith will fall to be deducted
from her allowance.
Ten Shillings were ordered to be paid to
Mr David Watson Senior, by a great majority
of Votes, the motion for the allowance being made
by Deacon Malcom. But Mr Mathewson having
dissented from the Resolution for reasons to be
afterwards given took Instruments upon his dissent
in the hands of the Clerk.
An account to John Ruach Muckear amounting
to 7/8 was ordered to be paid.
A motion was made by Mr David Neish
that an allowance of one pound should be paid
