Dundee 13th May 1822
At a meeting held this day a Petition for aid on behalf
of Catharine Smith daughter of the late George Smith
Master Tailor in Dundee – stating the petitioner to be in a very
weak and destitute state entirely unable to do any work so
as to procure any living for herself – The meeting postpone
the consideration of this petition till next meeting called for
the purpose of fixing pensions and ordering them to be paid –
James Kinnison Tailor in Dundee produced
a Burgess Ticket in his favour under the hands
of the Town Clerks Depute of Dundee, and craved
to be admitted a free Master & member of the
Tailor Trade on payment of the ordinary dues:
which request was unanimously agreed to and
the said James Kinnison was entered & admitted
accordingly having paid his fees and come
under the usual obligations; – but the intrant
having previously made an Essay piece, which
being examined by Essay Masters was found
faulty and a fine of 3/6 for the defect imposed
and paid. –

At a Meeting of the Tailor Traid it was
agread to pay to the following Widows thirty shillings
Each viz Widows Wilson, Duncan, Robertson, Reid,
Strachan, G Smith, G Mcdonald, A Mcdonald,
Dick, Ogilvie, Watson, & W Smith (£2-10)-
Cathren Smith 5/. and also to pay to
Alexander Langlands in futer 2/ pr week –
and ~to~ to exempt David Stephen his past arears
and in futer to exact no Quarter accounts from him,
and to pay Mrs Cochran 10/-
