recommended to the Trade that immediate steps
should be taken to prevent the persons so claiming
and exercising their trades from continuing to do
so to the manifest prejudice of those members who
were legally and duly entitled to follow the Trade
The meeting having taken into their
consideration the above report of their Committe and
having also carefully read over and conversed upon the
letters received from Edinr and Glasgow which the com
mittee refer to – They unanimously approve of the
proceedings and report of the Committee and hereby
instruct their Deacon and Boxmaster to intimate to
George Clark the person claiming to exercise the Trade
of a Taylor in Dundee as having belonged to the
West Forfar Local Militia without paying the
regular dues of Entry That unless he shall on or
before the 9th day of August instant make pay
ment to the Boxmaster of the Trade of the regular
dues for admission to the Trade and comply with all
the rules which are binding on the other members of the
Trade legal steps will be immediately thereafter taken
to compel him either to enter to the Trade one these
terms or to give up exercising the Trade in the Town
of Dundee
