Dundee 14th August 1816
A Meeting of the Tailor Trade being Specially
Called this Evening for the Purpose of Resuming
Consideration of the Propriety of Entering
Mr John Henderson Advocate, as a Constituent
Member of the Trade in consideration of his
very Great exertions in Behalf of the
Burgess – Guildry and Trades
This Meeting Do Unanimously agree
To Present the Freedom of the Trade and
all its Privileges to the Before Named Mr
Henderson and Request the Deacon to Communicate
the Same to him and Request of him his Pleasure
~and~ When it will be convenient ~for him~ to Sign
the Book of Entry Willm Young Dn

At the Same Time it was Proposed to Enter
David Milne Esqr Cashier of the Union Bank
as a Constituent Member of the Trade in consideration
of his Steady and Gentleman like conduct all through
the Struggle for Reform which is so happily
accomplished – this Proposition was also agreed to
Unanimously and the Deacon is hereby Requested
to Wait upon Mr Milne and inform him of the
Will of the Trade and ~know~ his Pleasure when it will
be convenient ~for him~ to Sign the Book of Entry
