The Clerk produced a letter from Mr. Pitcairn intimating
that he was of Opinion that the Trades were pretty well
founded in their plea as to the Calling of Ministers Trewing
or Disposing of the Towns property Both within and
without the Royality and the Choosing of the Clerk & Depute
after reading of which letter the Convenor represented that
as the provosts was now come some Length and the
Expence thereof hitherto payed out of the Generall
funds, he thought it proper the Deacons Should enquir=
=sent to their Diff=what Incorporations what was done
So as they might give ofistance out of their private
pockets for Carrying on the said proces, Which the
Deacons present agreed to and was to report their
