Dundee 1st September 1826

At a meeting of the Tailor Trade
held this day, Deacon McCosh
stated that the gallery Belonging to
the Magistrates in the East Church
was in progress of being removed
a few feet back from its present
position & that in consequence of
of the alteration in front, the Gallery
Belonging to the Tailor Trade might
be lowered & otherways considerably
improved – The meeting having taken
the above into their consideration
left the Deacon & his counsell to
act in the matter as they may
think most advantageous to the
Trade –
The Deacon also mentioned that the
Weavers & other Trades having seats in
the gallery were proposing to alter
the passage into the Tailors seats by
lowering the ceiling. The meeting having
considered of the above proposal do not
think that the Trade will be justified in
giving its sanction to the proposed alteration
